More than 50 people attended last night’s Phloem Launch Party held at the Bull Street Labs in Savannah.
Founder & CEO Dean McCraw, certified forester and arborist, won ATDC Savannah's Fast Pitch competition in 2016 with his idea to solve inefficiencies in the logging industry. He describes Phloem, an app for tracking wood from logging sites to mills, as "Uber for wood."

Not only will Phloem help loggers to keep track of product, it promises to increase efficiency at mills by alerting drivers to wait times as well as compiling important data for mills and logging companies.
McCraw collaborated with Codebase apprentice Akash Shah under the supervision of lead developer Max Howell to bring Phloem to life.
McCraw gave a demonstration of the app and noted all involved in bringing Phloem to fruition.
The app is now available for free on the Apple and Google stores.
